April Life Update

April Life Update

Hey mamas! It’s been SO long since I’ve published a blog post. Truth is, I’ve been extremely busy and unfortunately haven’t had enough time to consistently push out new content like I originally planned. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been writing & I promise I have some awesome new stuff for you guys coming soon!

Speaking of new things, some of you have asked me to start posting more about my personal life (even though I’m 100% uninteresting, haha) and I’ve decided to take y’alls advice! Starting today, I will be posting monthly life updates to keep you guys in the loop with what’s going on.

I’M OFFICIALLY A DOG MOM!

We added a new member to the family! Meet Ace! I’ve wanted to get a puppy for the last 6 months and it finally happened. One of my friends rescued him from the pound the day he was supposed to be euthanized. She knew I had been looking for a puppy & messaged me right away. We met him and brought him home the next day. He is 6 months old and the perfect addition to our family!

Also, my son turned two last month! We threw him a racecar themed birthday party at the park. Here are some pics from his special day.

How cute is his t-shirt! We got it from Etsy.

I found these cute little Paint Your Own Bank cars at the Dollar Tree!!
His favorite gift BY FAR! We were lucky enough to get this on sale a few months before Toy’s R Us went out of business. But I’ve seen them at Khols and Walmart too.

  1. Blog more!!
  2. Get active. I’ve been saying I’m going to start working out since January so I really need to put it into action. I purchased a Hot Yoga Groupon last month (5 classes for $30 bucks), so hoping to start that this month!
  3. Clean out our closets. Specifically, the kids because they have so many spring/summer clothes from last year that they can’t fit anymore.
  4. Finally doing my taxes. <— 100% dreading it, but I know it needs to get it done.

The kids and I can’t wait to use this huge watermelon float at the pool this summer! Also, currently obsessing over this bell-sleeved romper I got from Kohls!

I’m usually not a TV person, but I’ve been hooked to the new series Seven Seconds on Netflix. It really gives you an inside look into racial tensions and the injustices in the legal system. HEADS UP: wait until the kids are asleep before you watch because there’s tons of cursing.

Soar by TD Jakes and it’s sooo good! I’m not that far into it yet but it’s all about finding alignment with your purpose and vision and then making it come to reality.

A NEW COLLAB!

I’ve recently accepted a collaboration with Smile Brilliant, a company that offers an at-home teeth whitening kit that is supposed to be AH-MAZING. I’ve been searching for a good teeth whitening product that actually works but I haven’t had much luck. Needless to say, I am super excited to try this out! I got my kit & will be putting it to use this weekend. I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated on my results.

MOM AND BEYOND

The growth of my motherhood support group, Mom and Beyond, has been phenomenal! I started this group a few months ago and it has grown so much. We are up to 284 members from all over the world. Everyone is so supportive, accepting, and loving towards one another. It’s truly amazing. If you haven’t joined, please do. Would love to see your face in there!

PINTEREST CONFERENCE & EXPO

I had never heard of a Pinterest Conference & Expo until someone mentioned it on Facebook. It’s basically a huge event where Pinterest comes to life. You can sign up for classes that teach you how to make some of the top Pinterest crafts, recipes, DIYs, etc. AND you get to shop from some top businesses. It’s at the end of the month & I am sooo excited. Tickets are still on sale if you’re interested!

THIS RIGHT HERE!!

I received this message from one of my followers on Instagram a few weeks ago and it literally made me cry. Like the boo-hoo, OMG, tears flowing & snotty nose kinda cry.

This is the reason why I write. And why I share my stories, my thoughts, my experiences, my failures, and my wins. To make a difference in someone’s life – even if it’s just one person’s. This was the perfect reminder that I’m doing one of the many things I believe God has called me to do.

Yay for my first life update. I hope I didn’t bore you guys too much.

As always, I would LOVE to hear from you guys too! What are some things you’re looking forward to? Reading anything interesting? What are your goals for April? Let me know in the comments.

XO,
